It felt like Summer, on that special day in late September. The hot sunshine burning down on us as all the wedding people bustled about in preparation for what was sure to be the best day of Darren & Hailey's life. Hailey was calm and sweet. There were still sewing machines whirring in the little abode the girls had gathered in to get ready. The warm air was heavy with the wedding scents of hair spray and freshly ironed satin. People were going all directions and keeping track of it all was overwhelming. That's just how weddings are.
Was the father of the bride here yet? Does he know where to be to get his first glimpse of his daughter as the bride? Where were the shoes? Have the rings been accounted for? The officiant texted, traffic was backed up in Hudson and she was trapped in the delay. The wedding was set to begin so soon!
The bride slipped into her layers of white satin and lace. Her lifelong friend clasped the endless delicate buttons together. In all the meticulous unending details everything was all going so fast. Someone offered a stool for her to sit on as her sister secured the veil. Suddenly it was all so real. The wedding dress, the veil, her father waiting outside. It was her wedding day! In all the chaos things were falling into place. She was finally marrying her best friend!
