Sleeklens Strike a Pose Portrait Workflow Review

A couple months ago, Sleeklens contacted me to try some of their presets for the purpose of reviewing their workflow. To be entirely candid, I have never been much of a presets gal. In my opinion and limited experience with presets, I find that in general, presets feel more like "filters" and have a tendency to cheapen professional work. So, other than a few select basic presets I had created from my own work, I like to rely mostly on hand edits. But I decided to go ahead and jump at this opportunity and give it the ol' college try, and while I still hold the same personal opinion about the over use of presets, I do find myself regularly using many of the brushes in a lot of my work.

Because I could watch you for a single minute and find a thousand things that I love about you.

It seems like a lot of "my" babies (as I so lovingly adore to call my tiniest clients) arrive ahead of schedule lately. Little Miss Alyse did not want to miss Thanksgiving, so she called off her daddy's big hunting plans and arrived a prompt 2 weeks early. Which I was okay with, because I was in desperate need of a baby fix. It was freezing cold outside, with snow blowing and drifting wildly, but this little doll faced angel was perfect. She did nothing more than squeak contentedly in her newborn slumbers as her sweet mama and I fussed with her. This was one of the most relaxing sessions ever. Look how darling!

This is My Why

Every time I get behind the camera it feels like magic awaits. 2016 was such an incredible success for my photography, and I owe it to the strangers who became friends, the old friends who always supported me, and the helpers who came along and showed me ways to improve myself. I'm so thrilled for all the memories we made; the laughter we shared, the tears that fell now and then, the insane weather, the unexpected crazy, and all of the beautiful mess that enabled me to create some breathtaking moments.

This is Her Fight Song

That day she finally stood up for herself and the safety of her children was day one that she proved to herself and the world that she's stronger than she ever realized.
